Pastoral Counseling of Northern Virginia exists to extend the reach of congregations as they seek to fulfill their historic mission of caring for the hearts and minds of persons. PCNV seeks to provide the highest quality pastoral counseling services at an affordable cost to all persons regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation or national origin. We are informed by the wisdom of faith traditions as well as the insights of behavioral science in our understanding of and therapeutic approach to the healing of persons and their relationships. We not only see persons for whom their faith commitment is profound in shaping their lives, we also see persons who claim no faith orientation. We do not proselytize. We recognize the power of faith commitments in the shaping of self-understanding, of relationships with others, and of one's emotional health. We encourage our clients to make use of their faith commitments as a resource for their own healing and growth.
Pastoral Counseling of Northern Virginia adheres to the Ethical Guidelines for Psychotherapist and Practitioner Members of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education as well as various other Professional Associations and the State of Virginia Code of Ethics for mental health professionals.
Pastoral Counseling of Northern Virginia is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit pastoral counseling organization. As a not-for-profit counseling center, PCNV depends on the support of local congregations and individuals to help provide this ministry of pastoral counseling.
